How long is a session?

The initial assessment session is usually 1 ½ hours long. Subsequent sessions are usually between 50-55 minutes long. Sessions with individual children are usually 45 minutes in length.


How many sessions does it take?

The number of sessions required will vary and is usually negotiated between the clinical psychologist and the client. Some clients present with very specific goals that can be resolved in as little as 2-3 sessions, but for most clients it may take between 8-12 sessions. Each individual is unique hence, the importance of the initial session in determining the goals and conducting a thorough assessment.
